Urban Hotel Group IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship Melbourne - Sun 24 Mar
2,200 international triathletes will compete in one of the most important triathlons in the world.
ROAD CLOSURES - EastLink's southbound carriageway (including the Mullum Mullum tunnel) and Frankston Fwy southbound will be closed for this event from 4am to 7pm on Sunday 24 March. There will be other road closures in Frankston and Melbourne. road closure details and map on Ironman website
If travelling south that day use Springvale Rd then Mornington Peninsula Fwy from Springvale Rd to Peninsula Link. EastLink's northbound carriageway will remain open and Peninsula Link will not be affected.
The Victorian Government is proud to support major events such as the 2013 IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship. They shine the world's spotlight on our sporting capital, boost tourism to our State and help to energise our economy. More importantly, they inspire even more people to get out there, go for a run, ride or swim, boost their health, and be a part of the festival atmosphere.

Bike - 180km - two return laps of Frankston-Ringwood via EastLink
Run - 42.2km - Frankston to St Kilda following the bayside coast

Visit Frankston on Sunday 24 March to see the Ironman event and then visit Sandsculpting Australia's "Under the Sea" with 3,500 tonnes of sand carved into an underwater world of fantasy.
Or take in Stephen K Amos's comedy show at 7pm the same day at Frankston Arts Centre. more
