Air quality monitoring
Air quality monitoring on EastLink is conducted to help ensure the quality of air:
-
Within the two EastLink tunnels (Melba and Mullum Mullum Mullum tunnel)
-
Emitted through the tunnel stacks
-
At ground level locations around the tunnels.
ConnectEast operates the Melba and Mullum Mullum tunnels in accordance with a licence issued by Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA). This operating licence includes air quality limits that must not be exceeded for in-tunnel air quality and for emissions from the ventilation stacks.
A glossary is provided for technical terms mentioned in the Environmental Reports section.
