Before you login

Each time you log in, check your vehicle list:

  • remove vehicles you have sold - otherwise you may pay tolls for someone else

  • add any new vehicles - otherwise you may receive toll invoices with extra fees

  • if you can’t add a vehicle because it’s still on another account - phone us

If you hire a vehicle:

  • check the rental company’s toll payment program - it’s usually the easiest option

  • if you add a rental vehicle to your account - do this before using a toll road, and don’t forget to remove it when you return the vehicle.

Match the tag class to your vehicle’s tolling class:

  • the class of the tag is printed on each tag

  • CAR = Car, LCV = Light Commercial Vehicle, and HCV = Heavy Commercial Vehicle

The Minimum Annual Tag Usage Amount is $33.03 in EastLink tolls:

  • for each LCV tag and each HCV tag - all EastLink accounts

  • for each Car tag - post-paid business accounts only

  • only applies in each of the first three years after the tag is issued

  • more details about fees

Your tag should beep when you pass under a toll point.

  • 1 beep = tag working (no action needed)

  • 3 beeps = low balance (top up soon)

  • 4 beeps = account suspended (buy a trip pass and fix your account)

  • No sound = tag may not be working or not installed correctly

If your tag is not beeping:

  1. Check installation - make sure the tag is installed on the windscreen correctly with a tag holder. If you need a new tag holder you can order it online. Tag Installation Instructions - newer style tag

  2. Check your windscreen - some vehicles have special glass that can block the signal. Check your vehicle manual and install the tag in the correct position.

  3. Contact EastLink if your EastLink tag is installed correctly but still not working. We may need to replace your tag.
