A trip is:

  • travel in one direction only

You can:

  • leave and rejoin EastLink

  • as long as you keep going in the same direction

  • do not repeat the same section

  • finish within 60 minutes

A return journey = 2 trips

If you stop at the BP service centres on EastLink:

  • your trip may take longer than 60 minutes

  • we allow extra time for fuel, food or rest

With a tag

  • tolls are automatically charged to your account

Without a tag

  • tolls are charged to your account

  • an extra image processing fee applies (for reading your number plate)

Motorcycles:

  • do not pay the image processing fee

A trip pass:

  • pays for one trip in one direction only

  • a return trip needs 2 passes

Key points:

  • fixed price (does not depend on where you enter or exit)

  • price depends on your vehicle’s tolling class

During one continuous trip:

  • tolls are added for each section you travel

  • there is a maximum total amount (toll cap)

Once you reach the cap:

  • you will not pay more, even if you keep travelling

Note: The toll cap does not apply to trip passes.
