EastLink sponsors Shine a Light on Road Safety campaign

Community Walk & Wheel
Palms Lawn, Albert Park Lake (Sunday 24 May)

EastLink is supporting the Shine a Light on Road Safety campaign once again and encourages the community to join this year’s Walk & Wheel event on Sunday 24 May.

Hosted by Amber Community, the Walk & Wheel is a meaningful and family friendly event that brings people together to remember loved ones, support those impacted by road trauma, and raise awareness for safer roads.

Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to walk, wheel or ride. This year’s event will include a kids’ corner with colouring and face painting, music, food trucks, a complimentary coffee cart, and a raffle, making it an inclusive day for families and the broader community.

Supporting road safety awareness

EastLink is committed to improving road safety and is proud to support initiatives that encourage safer driving behaviours and community connection.

Road trauma continues to have a devastating impact on Victorian families and communities. Campaigns like Shine a Light on Road Safety play an important role in raising awareness and supporting those affected.

Headlights on for road safety (Friday 22 May)

As part of the campaign, motorists are encouraged to turn their headlights on during the day on Friday 22 May as a visible show of support for road safety.

This simple action helps honour those impacted by road trauma and reminds all road users to take greater care on our roads.

Get involved

There are many ways to support the campaign:

  • Join the Walk & Wheel on Sunday 24 May

  • Turn your headlights on during the day on Friday 22 May

  • Share the message with your networks to help raise awareness

Together, we can shine a light on road safety and work towards safer roads for everyone.
